Position Description

Job Title: Tool & Die Maker

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare tooling for production runs per production scheduling
Perform routine maintenance of tools; i.e. sharpening, grinding, replace common tooling components
Perform spot repairs of tooling when necessary; disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired.
Set tooling in press for production when necessary
Create fixturing for production purposes when necessary
Troubleshoot tooling in and out of press when issues arise
Create blueprints of existing tooling when needed (on paper with basic measuring tools)

Requirements:

Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Documented completion of tool makers apprenticeship/vocational training;
Welding
Basic metal fabrication
Knowledge of common tool room equipment; i.e. surface grinders, lathes, breaks, etc.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as: blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
Must have own tools
Autocad 2d a plus
Basic computer knowledge a plus
Able to lead apprentices and other journeymen.

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Work Week: Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, possible overtime on Fridays and Saturdays
